ARTISTIC PHILOSOPHY

I don't paint places. I paint what remains after we've left them.

My artistic practice explores Material Memory. It is an ongoing investigation into how texture, materiality, and light evoke the emotional experience of place. Rather than representing landscapes as they appear, I create contemporary abstract works that explore what lingers after we leave them: the atmosphere, sensations, and memories that continue to shape how we experience the world.

Originally trained as an engineer, I bring a deep curiosity for materials, structure, and process into my artistic practice. Working with acrylics, texture mediums, and natural materials, I build layered surfaces that transform with changing light and perspective. Through this process, texture becomes more than a surface. It becomes a language through which memory, place, and emotion are experienced.

Inspired by natural landscapes, geological formations, shifting light, and organic rhythms, my work exists between painting and object, inviting viewers to slow down, observe closely, and discover new relationships between surface, space, and perception. Every piece is an exploration of how materiality can communicate what words often cannot.

My work has been exhibited internationally in India, Italy, Spain, and Sweden, and I was honoured with the Critics' Award at ArteMida Expo, Milan (2026). As my practice continues to evolve, I remain committed to exploring how contemporary painting can transform remembered experiences into tactile works that invite reflection, connection, and a deeper awareness of place.

I believe art should do more than occupy a wall. It should transform the way we experience a space, inviting moments of stillness, memory, and emotional connection through the language of material and texture.
